Tell Your Stories

Remember that time you worked multiple jobs, and still couldn't afford to eat?

Remember that time your Dad had to choose between paying for cancer treatment or paying his mortgage?

Remember that time your friend had to skip doses of insulin because he couldn't afford the skyrocketing prices (and then he died)?

Remember that time you watched your mom hit rock bottom, but still couldn't get the help she needed because she didn't have the right insurance? Because she wasn’t poor enough?

Remember that time your friend felt like society had given up on them, and that they were just another statistic in the opioid epidemic?

Remember that time you had to take out a payday loan just to cover late fees on rent and utility bills?

Remember that time your buddy came back from serving our country only to find himself struggling with PTSD and homelessness?

Remember that time your aunt had to delay medical treatment because she couldn't afford the deductible?

Remember that time your brother had to file for bankruptcy because of medical debt?

Remember that time you felt like you were drowning in student loan debt, with no way out?

Remember that time you had to get your tooth pulled because you couldn't afford the root canal and your insurance only covered extractions?

Remember that time you worked as hard as you could and still couldn’t afford your car insurance - so you kept getting pulled over and the tickets racked up?

Remember that time you did everything you could but it still wasn't enough and then society told you that it was your fault even though you were doing everything you could to make a better life for yourself?

Remember that time you thought America was the greatest country in the world, but then you realized that there are dozens of other industrialized countries that have universal healthcare, affordable education, and hardly any homelessness or poverty?

We deserve the America we’ve been told we have.

Tell someone about your struggles.

We’re not just statistics or headlines.

Write it down.

Say it out loud.

Tell your stories.
